Heidelberg Cement, AG entered India in 2006 with the acquisition of erstwhile Mysore Cement, Cochin Cement and a JV with Indorama Cement. Post the restructuring and expansion at its Central India plants, its installed capacity increased to 5.5 Million Tonnes from 2.3 Million Tonnes. Post acquisition of Italcementi, the Group has more than doubled its presence in India. With 4 Integrated Cement plants, 4 Grinding Units and a Terminal, its installed capacity in India now stands at about 14 Million Tonnes. Currently cement is sold in 12 states where its brands are well accepted by its loyal customers.

HeidelbergCement India & Zuari Cement have been certified as “net water positive” by TÜV SÜD. “We give back close to 5.2 time more water than what we use”. We stand committed to achieve “zero harm” in all our operations by making “Occupational safety” our foremost priority. Maximizing use of alternative fuels, renewable energy and greening initiatives, we remain committed to ensure reduction in ambient temperature at our plant locations. We relentlessly pursue the ambition to achieve by 2022 a 2 degree lower ambient temperature within our plants compared to that prevailing a km away.
